Description

The long-tailed shrew is a small shrew measuring 48 to 79 mm.  Their tail takes the total length to 120 mm.  They weight just 3.1 to 8.3 g.

Long-tailed shrews live in mountainous territories, around and under rocks or near streams.  Their long tail is used to help them balance when they climb in their rocky habitat.  They are gray to black in color.
