Bryan Harding
Hi, I’m Bryan Harding. I am a keen birdwatcher and a mammalogist who has been researching mammals for over forty years.
MY STORY
For as long as I can remember, I have always been interested in animals. I always liked large animals, so mammals were always my favorite. Although not from North America, the giraffe is one of my favorite animals.
I have studied animals all over the world from Alaska to Australia and am fortunate enough to have swum with sharks, helped to rehabilitate elephants, and looked after sun bears
I have read and studied hundreds of books about animals over the years and thought it was a good idea to put some of my knowledge to use.
I have been an avid birdwatcher for as long as I can remember. I have seen Philippine eagles in the wild but didn’t have my camera with me. My goal is to see every bird species in the U.S.
I created this website when I realized I couldn’t find information online about some of the animals I love.
Originally I am from England but have lived all over the world. North America’s mammals have always fascinated me ever since I completed a school project at the age of eight on the Wild West. Reading about the bison and their near extinction had a big impact on me. My ongoing studies on the bison have shaped my thoughts on conservation.
I am a proud member of the American Society of Mammalogists and a member of the American Birding Association.
I am currently writing a book that I will be looking to publish in the near future.
