Bryan Harding is a mammalogist who has been researching mammals for over forty years. Bryan belongs to the American Society of Mammalogists.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been interested in animals. I always liked large animals, so mammals were always my favorite. Although not from North America, the giraffe is one of my favorite animals.
I have studied animals all over the world from Alaska to Australia and am fortunate enough to have swum with sharks, helped to rehabilitate elephants and looked after sun bears
I have read and studied hundreds of books about animals over the years, and thought it was a good idea to put some of my knowledge to use.
I came up with the concept of this website when I realized I couldn’t find information online about some of the animals I love.
Originally I am from England, but have lived all over the world. The mammals of North America have always held a fascination to me ever since I completed a school project at the age of eight on the Wild West. Reading about the bison and their near extinction had a big impact on me. My ongoing studies on the bison have shaped my thoughts on conservation.
I am currently writing a book which I will be looking to publish in the near future.
