The Arizona Gray Squirrel usually measures 43 to 60 cm in length and weighs around 500 grams. This tree squirrel is found in the canyons and valleys surrounded by forests in Arizona and some parts of northern Mexico.
The Arizona Gray Squirrel is threatened by habitat loss due to the introduction of the Abert’s squirrel and increasing levels of urbanization.
The Arizona Gray squirrel has small ears with no tufts and a red or black strip beneath its tail.
