Description
The Arctic shrew is a midsize, solitary mammal from the northern part of North America.
The Arctic shrew is dark brown on the back, lighter brown on the sides, and grayish-brown on the underbody. They measure from 7.5 to 12 cm and weighs from 5 to 13 g.
The Arctic shrew is an insectivore eating insects and small invertebrates.
They live in open areas near wetlands, clearings in snow forests, and conifer swamps. Their lifespan is just 18 months.
